Every year, the Fundación Lilly celebrates its anniversary with a meeting of representatives from the sectors and those who manage its activities, in which it presents the report of its achievements over the past year and which includes the Academic Ceremony to Present the Foundation´s Awards.

The Fundación Lilly was particularly proud that its First Annual Meeting was presided over by Mr. José Mª Aznar, the Spanish President, who presented the 2002 Biomedical Research Awards to Doctors Jesús Ávila and Ramón Gomis, and gave an important speech on the future of R&D in Spain.
